Cappadonna - The Pillage

By the time Cappadonna released his solo debut album, The Pillage, the Wu Tang sound as masterminded by the RZA had become familiar. since The Pillage doesn't really expand the Wu sound any further. With producer cohorts Goldfingaz and True Master, the RZA has re-created his signature sound. While it sounds terrific, the album isn't as focused as such previous Wu masterpieces, Consequently, The Pillage packs more punch than the average late-'90s hip-hop record, but it doesn't reach the dazzling standards of past Wu classics.
Released March 24, 1998 on Razor Sharp/Columbia Records, the album peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums and was certified gold by RIAA.
